Can't stay for your pet's whole visit? Our Curbside Drop-Off Appointment option gives your pet complete, unhurried care while you get on with your day. Our team will call once your furry loved one’s exam is complete to discuss findings, and nothing is done without your approval.
Who Qualifies
This offer is for new pets - any pet who has not been seen at Animal Hospital of Palo Alto before. Whether you've recently brought home a puppy or kitten, adopted an older pet, or are switching to us from another veterinarian, your pet qualifies.
Already a client with us? If you've welcomed a new pet who hasn't visited us yet, this offer applies to them too. And if you have a friend, neighbor, or family member looking for a veterinarian, we'd be grateful if you'd share this with them.
Who is a good fit for Curbside Drop-Off? If you have a busy workday, are juggling kids or errands, or simply prefer not to wait at the hospital, this appointment type is a great fit for you. It's also a good option for pets who do better without a long stay in the lobby.
How it works
- Book your appointment. Call us or schedule online by selecting the "Curbside Drop-Off Appointment" option
- Get your reminder. We'll send your arrival window, directions to curbside parking, and any prep instructions, such as fasting.
- Arrive and let us know you're here. Park in our designated curbside area and call or text us with your name, your pet's name, and your vehicle description.
- Quick check-in at your car. A member of our team will come out, review the reason for your visit, go over your pet's history, and collect any needed signatures.
- We take great care of your pet. Your pet will be safely escorted inside for their exam with one of our veterinarians.
- Hear from your veterinarian. Your doctor will call to share findings, recommendations, and an estimate. If there are additional treatment recommendations, we’ll share those and only proceed once you've approved.
- Pick up your pet. We'll call when your furry loved one is ready. At pickup, we'll walk you through any medications, home care instructions, and next steps.

- Follow any prep instructions in your reminder, including fasting if requested
- Make sure we have the best phone number to reach you during the day
- Bring any medications, records, or notes about changes you've noticed
Frequently asked questions
When will I hear from you? Your veterinarian will call after your pet's exam to discuss findings and next steps. We'll call again when your pet is ready to go home.
Will you do anything without asking me first? No. We'll share recommendations and an estimate and only proceed once you've approved.
